“Let’s make solar work” initiative started successfully in Nigeria
“Let’s make solar work” is a Nigerian-German solar initiative by experienced solar companies teaming up to organize know-how and technology transfer on solar PV diesel hybrid systems from Germany to Nigeria. Nigerian solar professionals shall deepen their knowledge about how to correctly size and deliver mid-scale solar PV diesel hybrid systems that help reduce considerably soaring energy bills. Also, often significant saving potentials can be raised by optimizing the existing power generation and consumption infrastructure, even before investing into solar power generation.
The project was initiated by the companies SOLAR23, eclareon, OneShore Energy and Solarmate Engineering. It is co-funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development under the develoPPP.de programme. The initiative co-operates closely with various educational institutions in Nigeria.
In November and December 2017, first expert seminars for solar professionals took place in Lagos. They were quickly overbooked. Further trainings are planned. More information is available online www.letsmakesolarwork.com.
Soon an online calculator for calculating diesel savings will be activated on the website.
