Study on social-economic impacts of RES and EE deployment in Jordan

The GIZ-funded study is scrutinising the socio-economic impacts of renewable energy and energy efficiency deployment on the Jordanian labour market. The project’s main objective is to provide Jordanian decision-makers with accurate and up-to-date estimates of such market shift’s potential, which is in line with the recently approved Energy Sector Strategy 2020-2030.

eclareon GmbH is leading the study, and is simultaneously responsible for the related research, analysis and modelling, putting special emphasis on the issue of related (local) value chain potential in Jordan until the year 2030. Besides, a series of (online) workshops together with a national project partner ETA-max and the representatives of Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) and the GIZ is envisaged. At the end of the project, capacity-building activities enabling Jordanian public authorities to make use of international expertise in the field are planned.

The research is conducted in the framework of the Jordanian-German Energy Partnership (2020-2022) aiming at the acceleration of the countries’ energy transition, helping to share experiences of Germany’s energy transition with Jordan.
