ASEAN RE Guidelines

The ASEAN RE Guidelines are a comprehensive, easy-to-access and regularly updated online tool which includes complete information on ideal RE project development cycles in the different ASEAN member States. The platform was developed to facilitate increased private sector activity and investment in the RE sector of the ASEAN region. It highlights on administrative procedures including requirements for project developers and/or investors. In addition, the tool also lists legal and regulatory provisions as well as necessary permits. Finally, the ASEAN RE Guidelines    identify country-specific challenges for project development and provide information on how to obtain financial closure.

The ASEAN RE Guidelines are designed as close as possible to the needs of project developers and potential investors, to promote transparency and clearness in the RE projects’ pathway. The Guidelines lead through the various procedures and help identifying risks embedded in each steps, so that proper mitigation measures can be designed and implemented. The ASEAN RE Guidelines are developed for different technologies in several ASEAN Member States. Phase I of the project, comprises the Member States Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam.

The project was developed and designed by the consortium eclareon and E.Quadrat Energy Experts on behalf of GIZ.
