Enabling PV in the MENA region - Jordan

The emerging PV market in Jordan

On behalf of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and in cooperation with the German solar association BSW, eclareon has researched and analysed the most economically viable business models for solar power projects in Jordan. The research covered both a qualitative description of the steps necessary to realise a solar power project as well as a modelling of the project financing under the given business models. Throughout this process, the Policy Department was responsible for the assessment of the legal and administrative process flows for each identified business model, as well as for the identification of existing barriers impeding the development of solar PV in the respective countries. Finally, eclareon also contributed to formulate concrete recommendations for removing these barriers.

The Enabling PV projects have been financed in the framework of the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB).
