Renewable Energy for Distributed Security RE4DS

Germany is a pioneer in the energy transition, Estonia in terms of digitisation. Development affects all areas of life and is systematically promoted and advanced by the state. In particular, the digitisation and thus securing of critical infrastructure such as the energy system plays an outstanding role due to the special geostrategic location of the entire Baltic region. The project "Renewable Energy for Distributed Security" (RE4DS) aims to bring about the Internet of Things for the security of supply and resilience of future energy systems through an exchange of knowledge and experience with Estonian authorities, companies and start-ups from Estonia and Germany.

The measures under this project are:

• Identification and approach of German and Estonian actors
• Online survey of member companies of German Solar Association on the perception of potential risks of the digitised energy transition
• Expert interviews and workshops in Berlin and Tallinn
• Short study
