Solar Guidelines India

Solar Guidelines India is the central information database of the Indian Ministry for New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and the Solar Cooperation of India (SECI) for solar development in India.

eclareon in collaboration with E.Quadrat Energy Experts and on behalf of GIZ have developed the platform and supported the research in India through the local research partners Deloitte India (phase I) and KPMG/Mercados (phase II).

The database aims at supporting small and medium size enterprises, project developers and investors by establishing a central information platform enhancing the understanding of the legal administrative frameworks and stimulating knowledge transfer among Indian Union states. By facilitating the dissemination of proper and desired information, the database offers a pathway for the development of solar projects, through legal-administrative-regulatory frameworks to financial closure and the construction and operation of the installation. The project development life cycle is described in detail for the solar promotion schemes of selected Indian States (Rajasthan, Karnataka, Andra Pradesh) and the Federal Solar Mission (Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM)). Moreover, administrative and non-administrative key steps, average timelines, costs and key challenges are singled out. The Solar Guidelines India database covers ground mounted solar (PV & CSP) as well as roof-top PV projects.

Solar Guidelines India is envisaged to enable investment and stimulate the development of the Indian solar sector. Moreover, an interactive communication platform provides information on recent developments of the Indian solar market.
