Dr. Georgios Maroulis
Georgios Maroulis works as a Project Manager in the Policy Department. He takes part in different projects aiming at analysing the legal framework conditions as well as questions concerning grid connection, operation and development for RES. Aside from his mother-tongue Greek, Georgios Maroulis is fluent in English and German and has good knowledge of Spanish and French.
In the frame of the RES LEGAL Europe project, he is responsible for the portfolios of Greece, Cyprus, the United Kingdom as well as for the Republic of Ireland. Furthermore, he is involved in the analysis of current barriers for the development of renewable energies as well as existing investment risks in the context of the RE-frame project. Georgios Maroulis has also participated in other projects such as RES Integration and PV Legal.
Georgios Maroulis holds a Master of Arts in Public and Private Environmental Management from Free University Berlin, where he focused on EU’s energy policy and international climate change policy. Apart from that, Georgios has a Bachelor’s degree in Regional and Economic Development from Panteion University of Athens, Greece with an emphasis on the analysis of European and national regional development policy. Finally, Georgios is currently a PhD Candidate at Panteion University of Athens and his Phd Thesis focuses on sustainability and intergenerational justice.
