John Jr. Szabó
John Szabó works as Consultant in the eclareon Policy Department. He is responsible for the research and analysis of climate policies, as well as for questions regarding the framework conditions for renewable energies in terms of grid connection, grid operation and grid development in Hungary. John Szabó is a native speaker of English and Hungarian and has basic knowledge of the German and French languages.
In the framework of the RES LEGAL Europe project, John Szabó is responsible for the portfolio of Hungary. In the Renewables Networking Platform project, he researches and analyses the non-financial barriers for the deployment of RES.
John has extensive work experience in the energy industry, where he has worked on multiple facets of the supply chain ranging from energy diplomacy, through an IOC, to a public utility. Most recently, he led Natural Gas Research at JBC Energy in Vienna. Currently, he is also a Junior Fellow at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
John is currently working on his PhD at Central European University’s Environmental Sciences and Policy Department. He attained his MSc at the Vienna University for Economics and Business from the Socio-Ecological Economics and Politics programme, while his Applied Economics BA is from the Corvinus University of Budapest.
