RAA-PERMIT-BOOST project on renewable energy permitting has been kick-started!
The RAA-PERMIT-BOOST project has been launched with a kick-off meeting in Brussels in June, hosted by the European Renewable Energies Federation (EREF). The meeting brought together the ten-partner consortium to align on the project's objectives and workplan and to set out the tasks ahead. RAA-PERMIT-BOOST runs from 2026 to 2028 and is funded under the EU LIFE Programme. RAA-PERMIT-BOOST aims to help EU Member States put Renewables Acceleration Areas (RAAs) into practice under the revised Renewable Energy Directive (RED III, Article 15c). The project equips public authorities and stakeholders with practical, reusable guidance and hands-on support to designate and operationalise RAAs and to speed up the permitting of renewable energy projects, while strengthening public acceptance and safeguarding biodiversity. To do this, the project follows a MAP, LEARN, APPLY and DISSEMINATE sequence across the EU-27, producing a living repository of knowledge, 27 country fiches, in-depth case studies, two Communities of Practice and a set of practical tools for authorities. After the project, the communities and key outputs will migrate to a European Centre of Excellence, so they remain openly accessible and maintained. eclareon leads the project's analytical backbone, including the EU-wide database, mapping how EU Member States are fast-tracking renewable energy permitting under RED III and spotlighting clean energy "pioneers" and "learners" across the Union. The initial results from the first monitoring round on RAAs should be published in late 2026. The work is coordinated by Th!nkE and carried out together with project partners eclareon, Ecorys, Austrian Energy Agency, Nature Conservancy, ICLEI Europe, EUFORES, EREF, and Civitta.

Energy Trade Mission on Green Gases in Poland: New Market Opportunities for German Companies
Poland is developing into an attractive growth market for green gases. Biomethane, biogas and green hydrogen in particular are gaining importance due to European climate policy, increasing energy security requirements and growing decarbonisation needs in industry, transport and the energy sector. From 26 to 30 October 2026, an Energy Trade Mission to Poland will take place as part of the German Energy Solutions Initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. The mission will focus on the production of green gases, especially biomethane and green hydrogen. It offers German companies structured access to the Polish market and supports them in establishing concrete business contacts. Participating companies will receive a dedicated target market analysis, an on-site briefing on market conditions and regulatory frameworks, and the opportunity to present their technologies to a Polish expert audience at a specialist conference in Warsaw. The programme will be complemented by individually prepared B2B meetings with potential partners, customers, project developers and other relevant market stakeholders. The trade mission is particularly aimed at German technology providers, plant manufacturers, component suppliers as well as engineering and EPC service providers in the fields of biomethane, biogas upgrading, power-to-gas, electrolysis, hydrogen-ready gas applications, measurement, control and safety technology, and digital plant optimisation. The Energy Trade Mission is organised by eclareon GmbH in cooperation with the German-Polish Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Poland) as part of the German Energy Solutions Initiative. Energy Trade Mission on Bioenergy in Vietnam: New Market Opportunities for German Companies
Vietnam is one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic growth markets. With rising energy demand, ambitious climate targets and large volumes of previously untapped biogenic residues, attractive business opportunities are emerging for German providers of bioenergy technologies. From 2 to 6 November 2026, an Energy Business Trip to Vietnam will take place as part of the Energy Export Initiative. The focus will be on solutions for biomass and biogas utilisation, waste-to-energy, bagasse-based CHP, biogas upgrading, measurement and control technology, energy management, storage solutions and grid integration. Participating companies will have the opportunity to present their technologies to a qualified expert audience at the German-Vietnamese Bioenergy Conference in Ho Chi Minh City. The programme will be complemented by an on-site briefing, networking formats, site visits and individually prepared B2B meetings with potential Vietnamese business partners, customers, distributors and decision-makers. The trip is particularly aimed at German technology providers, plant manufacturers, engineering service providers and consulting companies along the bioenergy value chain that wish to enter the Vietnamese market or expand their existing activities. The business trip is implemented by AHK Vietnam. eclareon supports the initiative in Germany through promotion, company outreach and participant support. Interested in participating?
